Simple Pero Rock

Thank you to Schick and NuffnangPH I will be able to have a movie date with my mom later. We will be watching the Man of Steel at Shangrila in Crossing. I joined their contest and luckily I was picked as one of the winners. I know the movie would be beautiful as my son and husband was able to watch it already.

With the recent result of the Pilipinas Got Talent season four, a lot of people are disappointed because the grand winner was a singer again! I was a bit disappointed myself, but I have some objective observations.

Singing is a talent, so whether we like it or not still, the Filipinos still got the talent. I know there are a lot of reality shows for singers like the voice, x factor, American idol and other local contests and its just make it more obvious that we have more singers and they are more popular. Filipino singers are all over the world, they are popular because they can sing, they are all over, Charice, Jessica Sanchez – from American idol, and I know there are other Filipinos in that contest though they didn’t reach as far as Jessica reached, the little girl in British got talent, and another Filipino in international singing contest, just forgot his name and the contest and all the others including those were able to guest at Ellen’s show. And who will forget Apl.de.Ap, Arnel Pineda and of course Lea Salonga. They are well known because they are generally a singer.

Filipinos have the heart for singing. If there is someone singing at the mall doing a demo of wow magic sing, and he/she is doing great, a lot would stop and listen. Even if there is no big prize as costly as a gold bar to win, aspiring singers would still join amateur singing contests in barangay fiestas. And don’t ever forget the karaoke in the old days which is now know as videoke. A lot would spend 5 pesos coin just to be able to sing their favorite song. Even at the malls, there are a lot of videoke and Filipinos would sing their hearts out. It just goes to say that Filipinos have the talent for singing and we have to be proud of that.

If you had the powers of MAN OF STEEL for one (1) week, how would you use it?

When I asked my husband to help me to answer this question, all he can say was, I can’t be the man of steel as I am a woman. LOL, smart answer right, but there is always superwoman in the DC comics.

What are really the powers of man of steel and how would I use it in just one week?

Flight and Superhuman Strength– I haven’t been to other places and countries so when I have this power, I would explore the world,

visit the popular places and discover new places. I would probably combine this with the superhuman strength so I can carry my son and husband with me as I explore the world, that would be exciting and a happy bonding.

Superhuman Speed – combined with the superhuman strength, I will use this so I can clean, redecorate and even repainting our house, wash, iron and fold our clothes, arrange my files in the office fast and just put the things around me in order.

Invulnerability, Healing Factor and all the superhuman senses (hearing, vision, breath, Olfaction) – I will use this to become a good citizen of the world by fighting all those criminals in the world, to capture all the most wanted in the world. Whew! That would be difficult but with all those powers it would be easy for me.

Superhuman Intelligence and Eidetic Memory – I will write lots of articles that would help other people, I would post in my favorite forum, make new and effective test for our applicants at the office, make easy reviewer for my kid to help him better in school and read the books that I really like.

Wow! Just for one week, I think I will be able to do a lot of things. This is just a wishful thinking.

But actually being a mother is being a superwoman already. Just imagine doing all sort of stuffs at home like cooking, cleaning, washing the clothes, ironing the clothes, fixing the house, taking care of the kids, not to mention carrying the baby on her tummy for nine months and also doing all sort of stuffs at work like filing, talking to irate customers or visitors, stress from the boss and from the office mates, and lastly being a woman, bonding with friends and having a time alone plus being strong all the time even in times of problems and difficulties. Balancing all these things makes the MOTHER a SUPERWOMAN and nothing would beat that.

I recently attended a summit for executive assistants and administrative professionals. It was a two whole day event at the SMX convention center. There were nine topics with three breakout session wherein we can choose one of the two topics. The learning was endless and I wish there were more time or even another summit.

All of the topics are very interesting but I will share about one topic which is time management. I know it is really hard to manage our time, I myself can manage it well whether it is for the office or for my personal time. There is a method called prioritization method wherein the tasks should be classified into four which is:

Important and urgent
Important but not urgent
Not important but urgent
Not important and not urgent

Obviously, we need to prioritize tasks that fall under the important and urgent category, simply because it has to be done immediately. There are also tasks that is important but not urgent, this tasks we have to schedule, we can decide on when to do this particular task in order to prioritize other tasks. Tasks that falls under not important but urgent can be done quickly, so we can get rid of it immediately thus we can focus on other things, but this tasks can also be delegated to other person which we think can handle the task. Finally, tasks that we still usually do that are important and not urgent should be dumped as much as possible.

So, like me, if I need to do a job/research regardinghydraulic arms which has deadline, I have to prioritize it over posting in forums that don’t have deadline and also on other things like playing candy crash.

I hope I can apply this so I can get things done at the right time without sacrificing other things. How about you guys, how do you manage your time?

I am the only girl in the family (except my mother, of course). I have four brothers and now I have a son. So I can say that I like taking care of baby boys and I know better to take care of baby boys because I haven’t really experience taking care of baby girls. But now that my son is already a big boy, I and my husband are planning on having a baby anytime now, it would be sad if my son would grow up alone with any siblings.

I am not expecting anything, it’s okay to have baby girl or baby boy but of course it would be easier if I have baby boy as I am more adapt in taking care of boys since I have taken care of my younger brothers and of course my son. But if I ask my son, he would say, he likes to have a baby brother so he can share his toys. It’s easier to buy baby clothes for boys as well unlike for baby girls were there are a lot of choices but I know buying baby clothes for girls would be fun. I was just looking at an online boutique baby clothes and the clothes are just beautiful. For baby girls there are just hundreds or even thousands of choices from headbands to blouses and dresses to socks. The good thing about it now, there are online stores where I can search and choose clothes at the comfort of our house. Just imagine, moms can shop for their baby’s clothes without having to go to the mall and get tired of walking.

Oh anyway, I still don’t know yet. We’re just planning and we want to have it February next year. LOL. We’ll see until the end of the month if it would be positive or not.
