Ready for his First Holy Communion
Today is an important moment for my son in connection with his Catholic Faith. Every time we go to mass and he sees me taking the Host in the communion he would always ask me how does it taste and when can he eat it as well. I explained to him the important of receiving the Holy Communion. He is now in grade 2, so at the start of the school year, I immediately asked the school office I they have first Holy Communion even though they are a non-sectarian school. Good thing they can coordinate with the parish Church so they can participate in this year’s First Holy Communion celebration. Since the start of the school year, they would have catechism at school, teaching them about the bible and the importance of the Holy Communion.
And finally, today, he is ready for the occasion. Just look at him, he is a big boy already and he is so excited to go to the Church and accept Jesus through the Holy Communion.

Back to School!
Yes, it’s back to school for my little boy today. I was able to wake up on time so I can prepare our breakfast and his snack for school. I did wake him up early as well and just like before he would always want to have an extra minute before he gets up. In my previous post I was considering home schooling for him but I guess I am not yet ready for that, as well as my husband. Yes, parents should also be ready when they decide to home school their children since it would need enough time and focus for the study. My husband is still not open about that idea so I guess, we need to attend seminars and orientations for home schooling.
So, anyway, my son is at school today, I wasn’t able to take a picture of him as he is not wearing school uniform and he just brought a small bag since its still irregular classes for this week. He still has no uniform since the school decided to change their uniforms this year and I saw a sample of it earlier, and the uniform looks nice, the color is different from the old one but I think it would be as comfortable as wearing a cherokee workwear. I just wish the uniforms would be available as soon as possible.
My floating son
We went to a short family vacation / outing on the last weekend of April at my brother’s house in Batangas. We left late night of Friday to avoid traffic but there were a lot of trucks with spill kits or containers but good thing the trip going to Batangas went smoothly. On Sunday, we decide to go to a nearby resort and since my son loves swimming he was so excited. My son is still trying to learn to swim and I try to assist him with his floating, I just ask him to relax and close his eyes, and look at him.

Twenty Pesos Bills
These are no ordinary twenty pesos bills. Yes, at first look it looks like an ordinary new generation money bills but it has a significant value for me. Last month was my birthday. On the day itself, my husband has work so we decided that I and my son would just go to Megamall at the end of my husband’s shift. Before we left the house, my son told me to wait as he forgot something upstairs. He went up and when he went down again he was holding something and he was hiding it at his back. He approached me and greeted me Happy Birthday and handed me these twenty pesos bills. I know this amount would not be enough to buy charm bracelets but I was really touched by his little act of thoughtfulness. This money came from the money that he received last Christmas from his Godmothers and Godfathers. Up to now, I haven’t spend the money and I don’t have plans of spending it. I hope as he grows up he will continue to be thoughtful in his own little ways.
My dancing son
We are attending The Feast every Sunday at Valle Verde. It is a Catholic prayer meeting of the Light of Jesus family. There would be a mass, a teaching and worship. My brothers are part of the dance ministry and they offer their talents in dancing as worship to the Lord. My son, seeing my brothers dancing in front, told me that he wanted to be a dance ministry also. I agreed, I accompanied him at the practice Saturday afternoon and yesterday he danced in front! He is just seven years old and the youngest among the group. He had mistakes and sometimes he just imitates the big guys but I am still proud of him. I have videoed it using my mother’s iphone and tried to upload the video at youtube but I am having a hard time. I just hope I don’t need a vlc media player just to watch the video and share it at facebook and on my son’s blog.
Little singer
My son likes to listen to music using his cellphone, Nokia 3120C. This is my old mobile phone that I decided to give it to him. He don’t really use it to text and call, he just uses it for playing games and listening to music. Whenever he hears a new song, he would always ask me to download it on his phone. It’s nice that my son is interested in music and sometimes I would hear him singing. I remember him singing Pinoy Ako and A whole new world using electro-voice microphones at my mother’s house. I think he has a good voice and it would need to be developed. I hope I can enroll him to a voice lessons this summer but I still have to ask him if he wants it or not.
