I opened google today to search about bauerfeind malleoloc ankle brace and this google doodle welcomed me. I reminded me of the celebration today, Labor day.

Labor day recognizes the efforts of the workers worldwide but labor day is being celebrated on different dates on different countries. Like in United States, Labor Day is observed on the first Monday of September.

Here in the Philippines, we celebrate Labor day today and it is considered holiday and usually there’s no work for the employees but still considered paid today. If a worker is required to go to work, he will have an additional 100% pay today if his pay is on a monthly basis, but if he is on a daily basis, his pay today would be 200%.

For example, if an employee receives 10,000 a month or 5,000 per cutoff and he is not required to go to work today, he will still received 5,000 on the payday. If he is required to go to work today, he will receive an additional 100% of his day salary. It still depends on what is the factor being used on the monthly salary.

If the worker is on a daily basis, and receives 400 pesos a day, if he is not required to go to work, he should received 400 pesos today, but if he is required to go to work he will received 800 pesos today. That’s why some workers would still want to go to work today as they will have additional earnings than stay at home and have additional expense.

Oh, I miss the payroll department.

More and more people are beginning to be business minded now. They want to have their own business even if they have their office job which is good because Warren Buffet said “Never depend on a single income. Make investment to create second source.” One of the most common businesses of the people I know is online shops. Yesterday, I and my mom went to Lipa, Batangas to go to my brother’s school, De La Salle Lipa. My mom would attend a seminar on depression and suicide while I will go with my brother and have a business presentation to some of his classmates. In the afternoon, my mom and I stayed at the nearby mall. I have noticed a lot of students. There are those who wear their school uniforms or their PE uniforms, some are wearing nursing uniforms, some are even talking about were to get discount scrubs. We were able to talk to tourism students from two different schools and I was able to do a business presentation to one of them. My mom did the intro, it’s her gift, she can actually do cold prospecting and have a positive outcome, and I do the presentation. It was my first time to do a business presentation to some one I don’t really know but it was worth the experience.

Network marketing is a multi-billion industry around the world but a lot of people or even majority of the people doubt network marketing. It is because of some companies in the past which lured people in their get-rich-quick scheme. Network marketing is not a get-rich-quick company; you will not earn and reach your dreams if you don’t work hard. Just like any other business and jobs, you have to give your time and effort in order to succeed in this industry.

Because of the power of the internet, networking can be a little bit easier. If you have friends or relatives that is in the province or even in other country and you like to invite them to a business meeting, you don’t have to go there. People – try to research the background of the owners of the company. If you want to have a restaurant business, who will you trust? of course, a person who have a strong background on restaurant business. So if you are going to trust a network marketing company, make sure the people behind the company has a strong and solid background in the business.

Products – are the products good? do they have quality seals like halal (for Muslims), Koshers (for Jewish), BFAD and others. Do you have a huge market for the products? Do you have a lot of competitors? What are the edges of the product?

Position – in networking, it would be best if you are able to join a company in its pioneering stage. If the members are still in 0 – 50,000 at the time you are invited, grab the chance and start building your network. Big networking companies today have over a million members. Just imagine if you have at least 1% of that population under your network.

And lastly, take a look at the core values of the company, are they putting it in practice or money is more important for them than the relationship among its members.
