Easter Triduum or Paschal Triduum is the most significant events of the Holy Week. It is the three day celebration that starts on the evening of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and ends on the evening of Holy Saturday or the Easter Vigil.

Usually on Maundy Thursday, the Church will have the Last supper in the evening; this is followed by the Eucharistic Vigil and Adoration until midnight. It is a common practice of families and religious groups to have Visita Iglesia on this night. It would be the time to visit the Blessed Sacrament in seven or fourteen different Churches to pray and reflect and sometimes pray the Stations of the Cross. Other traditions would include walking or Alay Lakad to National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo Church or Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Bulacan.

On Good Friday, Seven Last Words and reflections are held at 12noon, it can be at church but nowadays, Seven Last Words are also shown in the television with sharing and reflections coming from people from different sectors of the community. In the afternoon, there would be celebration of the Lord’s Passion and Veneration of the Cross followed by procession of Santo Entierro and Mater Dolorosa. There would be no mass but there would be distribution of the Holy Communion which was blessed on Maundy Thursday.

On Holy Saturday or Sabado de Gloria is the preparation for the Easter Vigil to be celebrated in the evening. Paschal Candle is blessed and lit on the celebration. Renewal of baptismal vows is done by the whole congregation and would be sprinkled with the baptismal water.

On Easter Sunday celebration is joyous and glorious as the Christ is risen, Salubong is celebrated in the morning wherein the life size statues of the Risen Christ and the Virgin Mary is in procession and would meet at the designated place. It some church it is celebrated after the Easter vigil but it others it is at early Sunday morning.

If you want to attend the Church’s celebration of the Holy Week, make sure to check the schedule of your local Parishes. Make this Holy Week meaningful and reflect on the real message of the Passion and Death of Christ.

Whether you will have a vacation this holiday or you will stay at home and attend Church activities this Holy week, you have to make sure that you, your loved ones, your belongings and your home are all safe. So here are few tips to remember this holiday season.

If you are leaving the house make sure you:

Lock all the doors and windows, double or even triple check everything.
Turn off all the lights
Unplug all appliances
If you will be on a vacation, you can turn off your breaker if you don’t have any perishable in your fridge.

For your travel security:

Make sure you plan your trip, be aware of the routes you will take to avoid heavy traffic.
Check your vehicle, remember the BLOWBAG or brakes, lights, oil, water, battery, air of the tires, gasoline/ diesel.
Use your seatbelts and lock the vehicle doors
If you will use motorcycle make sure you wear schuberth helmets or any helmets that is durable.
Don’t forget to double check your IDs especially license before leaving.

For general safety when going out:

Bring umbrella and hand fan
Bring bottled water
If you are going to attend Church activities, bring your handy stool or be at the church early to have a good seat
Secure your bag and your belongings, keep it close to you

After 155 days of staying in the Pinoy Big Brother house, the big night has finally come. After 155 days of being away from their loved ones, the big winner has been announced this evening. Garnering around 40% of the total votes, the big winner is Slater Young who is dubbed as the “Hot Engineer of Cebu.” He is the first male PBB big winner in a regular edition. I think he really deserves the big win, just liked what he wished when he entered the house, he wanted to be mature inside the house and after staying inside the big brother house, he was able to show the whole world his leadership qualities. The awarding of the big winner’s prizes marks the end of the PBB Unlimited Season 4, part of his prize is 2 million cash, if he has a girlfriend he could immediately buy her a unique engagement rings and give a very romantic proposal.

Second big placer is Pamu, Kiti kiti Kid ng Batangas, third big placer is Biggel, the Promdihirang Tisoy ng Marinduque, and the fourth big placer is Paco, the Hopeless Romantic ng Gensan. Each of them have their own big prizes as well.
