Trendy and Heartily Yours!

Niko got her personal blog, her marriage blog, her daughter’s blog, and a blog that talks about the girly side of her, but this last blog is all the trendy and heartily awesome stuffs in the internet, that’s why its called Trendy and Heartily Yours. Niko gave life to this blog in July 2009 with the aim of letting all her readers know what’s buzzing around the net now. I can see that she tried her very best to keep this site updated with the latest buzz not just around the internet but also in the entertainment world. Lately, she writes review for K and Pehpot’s blogversary contest sponsors, yup, this contest is very IN now in the internet, and actually this review is also an entry for that contest.

The header its quite simple but chic, showing the title of the blog and a woman, thinking of something, this must be Niko :D , thinking about the latest buzz that is worth writing and yet still looking great. It has a neat three column layout, with all the essential things on the side bar. Tough all her blogs have this three column layout, each of them have their own character.

So, visit Trendy and Heartily Yours! to keep you updated with the latest news about entertainment, fashion, health and technology.

Husband of a Blogger

A blog review for Husband of a BLOGGER as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

As the old saying goes, “If you can’t beat them, join them!” Yobib, a husband of a blogging addict, Niko, finally decided to create is own blog last June 2009. This family is making me smile and they are so inspiring, just imagine the wife got her own blog, the daughter who’s just two got her own blog too, of course maintained by her mother, and now the husband got her own abode in the internet. So lovely.

The two column layout with black bacground is very manly, a common thing in most of man’s blog I visited. It’s fun reading a blog of a guy, because most of the guys I meet have a hard time expressing their thoughts that’s why I have a great time listening or reading a guy’s stories. The topics varies, from health articles to entertainment news and facts, and of course stories about their baby girl, but what I like most here is his own version of Couple’s corner story. The wife have her own stories to share in her site, but it’s fun reading a man’s point of view in the story. You can just compare notes. Aww, this couple is just so sweet and connected.

A glance at Yena’s World

A blog review for Yena’s World as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

Niko’s daughter, Yelena Hayden or simply Yena was born in January 15, 2008. But Niko gave birth to Yena’s world in October 2008. Upon seeing the header, I know that this is a baby blog, there is a picture of Yena smiling proudly at her visitors. The three column layout is my favorite, wherein the sidebars widgets are placed nicely. Also on the sidebar, facts about Yena are posted.

Niko’s just love Yena so much, that this blog is all about her and how to take care of babies. This is Niko’s journal on her baby’s growth and milestones. Articles are dominated by Yena’s picture and videos and she is really an adorable baby. You can just see Yena smile, pout, talk, stay, or just about anything, it’s all about Yena, and indeed this is Yena’s World.  This adorable baby is very lucky to have a mommy like Niko who’s so sweet and so loving, but I know Niko is luckier to have a wonderful blessing in the form of Yena. By the way, Yena just turned two last January 15. (Niko, please replace the ticker at the footer :D ) If you need some ideas on baby blogs, or you just adore babies, make sure to put Yena’s world on your list.

Pen, Paper, Pan

A blog review for Pen, Paper, Pan as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

What I discovered about the Work at home moms is a fact that most of them have a working career before they finally decided to leave their career behind to prioritize their work as a mother and wife. One of them is Yami, the mother behind Pen, Paper, Pan. The header represents the title very well, a lady holding a pen and paper in front of a pan. Woman are really multitasker, can you just imagine Yami, writing an article while cooking a meal for her family?

This blog talks about anything about being a wife and a mother and everything in between. You will be able to get to know Yami and her wonderful family with every article she is writing. Aside from personal experiences, there are a wide range of topics, like technology, travel, environment to name a few. She also shares wonderful pictures for weekly memes, litratong Pinoy and Food trip Friday. Oh, just a little reminder those Litratong Pinoy entries are written in our native language, Filipino. With blogging, she can still practice her profession as a writer and still she earns money online.  Come visit Pen, Paper, Pan, and understand how a mother embrace the life of a full time work at home mom. :D

A trip with Super Gulaman

A blog review for Super Gulaman as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

A black background with two column blog welcomed me when I landed on the pages of Super Gulaman. The sidebar are clean with only the useful links, archives and labels, latests post and comments, and followers are there. The chatbox are placed uniquely also, you need to click the word chat box, in order to see the widget. The articles are done in our native language, Filipino, if I remember it right, this is only the second time I encountered a blog in our own language, and it made me smile and like it immediately, because I can rest my nose from bleeding :D :D . But seriously, the author, Super Gulaman, as he wants to be called,  has so many interesting and funny articles and stories. His comments and opinions are very honest and direct. I like the way he commented on the suspension of his favorite show, Showtime because of a comment of Osang, one of the judges. It made me appreciate more the teachers I encountered in school. Aside from serious opinions, he have poetries to share, just read how the (imagination) imahinasyon, became a wonderful poem. On top of it all, he has a great sense of humor. Can’t help but smile with his post. I never imagined that this guy, a guy with sense of humor and writing skills is a Math Teacher! Wow, I can just imagine his students loving math because they have a great teacher.

I enjoyed my visit with Super Gulaman, I’m sure bloggers will enjoy too, but if you can’t understand our language just make sure to arm yourself with google translate. :D

The sweetness of Cotton Candy Buzz

A blog review for Cotton Candy Buzz as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

I visited a new site today. This blog’s theme is very unique with checkered background. The main wrapper looks like a school paper, the header looks like a classroom with the students sitting on a desk with books, pencil and another girl near a black board, where the blog title is written. I feel very comfortable when I landed on the page, because there’s already a “Welcome” note just below the header. Her sidebars widget are placed very neatly, navigation menu are there, categories, sites she belongs too, blog roll and some ads.

Cotton Candy Buzz is a site that talks about everything that is sweet and colorful in life. This is more than Riza’s personal encounters in life; she gives honest reviews on products that she herself supports. She is a work at home mom; she shares different tips on raising the children like how music fosters creativity. She has a wide range of topics that makes her blog really interesting. So if you’re a mom who needs some tips on child care, or an individual who needs some tips on business planning, or a blogger who loves to read, visit Cotton Candy Buzz and experience sweetness in your life, I myself will go visit the site more frequently starting today.

Take a peek at Mae’s Psyche

A blog review for In My Psyche as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

This is my first time to visit In My Psyche; it is one of the third level sponsors of K & Pehpot’s contest. A two column template with green and brown background welcomed me when I landed the page. Not too many widgets on the sidebar, I like the availability of the archives on the sideabar and the tag clouds at the bottom on the page. The author is Mae, but her penname is peppermayo. She’s a Filipina but migrated to the US to get married to the love of her life. Actually, she is floating in wedded bliss for 1 year and 11 months; you can track it on the ticker at the bottom of the page. I admire this lady for surviving long distance relationship for 10 years.

This is her personal blog, an online diary. She talks about her life, her ups and downs, her thoughts and interests. I can just feel how much she misses the Philippines, though she is in US, she is updated with what’s happening here.  You gotta see her comment about a Kris Aquino’s facebook status.  She’s one smart gal. You can get to know her just by reading her blogs. I invited you to take a peek at Mae’s Psyche, and discover her innermost self.

A review for My Journey to Life

A blog review for My Journey to Life as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

I’ve visited My Journey to Life several times already. Actually, I am one of her sponsor in her First Online Baby & Blogging Contest. If you haven’t join this contest, you still have time because it will end on the 15th of March. At first look on the site, I see a woman happily married with a beautiful daughter. The header contains the picture of their family. The home page of the blog is quite different and unique. It’s a magazine type layout but I don’t find her sidebar clean. Badges are everywhere, on the side bar, down the posts and even at the three column footer. Links are quite redundant; there are contest text links just below the header inviting everyone to join, and badges of the same contest are on the sidebar too. But I like the way she categorize her blog roll on the footer. I hope Ria would understand what I mean, and will take this constructively. And I admire her for putting great effort in designing her own template. Putting the layout aside, I like her blog, that’s why I keep on visiting her. Aside from the different contests she joins, wherein she has winning luck, she also shares her journey in life as a mother and wife. I can see in her pictures how she enjoys her life now. As she said, she was once an ugly duckling, but this duckling turned out to be a beautiful swan. Yes, in deed she is so beautiful and she is so blessed with a happy family. While browsing, her pages for her old posts, confusion started again, some of the posts don’t have titles, maybe she just overlooked it, and when I click on some titles it redirects me to another site, or it redirects me to her home page, other titles are just fine. Maybe I should click the “read more” to, yeah, continue reading. Overall, I would recommend you to visit Ria and join her in her Journey to Life and don’t forget to join her two contest. Good luck!

Quality Day

Upon landing on the pages of My Quality Day, I already have the impression that the author loves nature. This is not my first time to visit the site, but K and Pehpot’s contest gave me the chance to review this site. The layout is simple, with two columns, sidebar on the left side with some ads, profile, archive, labels, awards and top commentator’s buttons.  The author calls herself Sharkbytes, at age 61 she loves hiking and blogging. I just love the pictures of nature and places she goes to, some what it also connects me to nature. Her pictures of sunrise and sunset are awesome. Aside from being an active blogger (an average of one entry a day), she’s been working on hiking the North Country National Scenic Trail for 17 years. As of last year, she already completed 3518 miles. Wow, this woman is great. She also shared her secret on the elements of a Quality Day.  This helps her remind that everyday there is something to be cheerful about. Upon reading her entry, it also gave me a reason to believe that everyday is a Quality Day.

If you want to know her secret too, just visit her site, and have a Quality day everyday.

Let’s Live Life to the Fullest

A blog review for Living Life to the Fullest as entry to Kaye and Pehpot’s Contest.

Living Life to the Fullest is a blog brought to you by Levy, a devoted mom to a boy and a loving wife. She gave up her career to take care of her family, but still find ways to have an additional income through the internet. This blog is all about her journey as she tries to Live Life to the Fullest.

Green, the color of nature, life and well being, is the background of this blog which fits the blog title so much. She have this three column layout wherein the sidebars are located both on the left side. Widgets are placed neatly; she is a proud member of She bloggers, BC bloggers, and a participant of Girls Talk and Mommy Moments. She loves joining contest too; check out the buttons on the sidebar.

I like the way she writes every article, you can just feel the emotion. Mothers and children should read her post about Debt Owed, but prepare your hanky :D . She writes interesting topics, and you’ll be amazed with cool, odd, funny facts or pictures she shares. Sometimes, she does write things that are depressing, but I know she avoids doing that. I also like her signature, a constant reminder to her readers that, “what ever happens in life we should always remember to live life to the fullest” Do give her a visit today.
